Sex In D&D!

Mature Audience

The fact is, I am writing this campaign setting for mature adults, it is not meant for children!  I include sexual content because it adds personality to my world, and because I like sex.  Part of playing in the Cult of Sins Campaign is being mature enough to handle sexual material just the same as you would violence.  If you are mature enough to cut off an orc's head you should be  mature enough to seduce the prince of Kalruk.
If you are offended by sexual content however, I invite you to check out other campaign settings published on the web or to omit the sexual material from this one when you use it for your own game.

***I DO NOT WANT PEOPLE E-MAILING ME SAYING THIS MATERIAL IS OFFENSIVE, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T READ IT***

The Book of Erotic Fantasy

The  D20 supplement released by Valar Project, Inc. is in my opinion the most informative and comprehensive guide to sex in role-playing games.  As such I recommend you get your hands on a copy (not an easy feat) and read it cover to cover.  Much of my home brew 4th ed rules for sex are based on the rules presented in that wonderful tome, and much of the writing here will refer to paged of that book for descriptions.

Size and sex
BoEF 41
Sex is most comfortable between creatures of the same size, and while creatures of different size categories can engage in sexual activity together is can be difficult, and often requires some creative variations.  When creatures of different size categories engage in sexual activity they suffer from an unfavourable circumstance penalty on all relevant checks.

Sustaining Sex
BoEF 42
Sometimes players need to know how long their character can engage in continuous sexual activity before needing a rest, whether it is to determine if a sexual ritual can be cast, or just to prolong the passion and fun.  Whenever a character attempts to sustain sex for a prolonged period of time they make use of the Endurance skill as detailed below.

Sustaining Sex

  • If two or more characters wish to sustain sex for an extended period of time without engaging in a sexual challenge then simple have each player make an endurance check with the modifiers below, the result determines how long each partner can resist climax.

Check Result Duration / Conditions
9 or less 15
10 30

20 1 hour and 15 Minutes
22 1 hour and 30 Minutes

Modifiers Conditions
-2 Partner(s) is of a different size category
-2 Partner(s) has the Sexual Training feat
-2 Partner(s) is of a different creature type
+2 Character has Sexual Training feat
-1 to -10 Certain tools can be employed to hasten your partners climax

  • The lowest check result determines the duration of activity, though generous lovers often find ways of fulfilling their partners need even if they can't keep up physically.
  • A character can try and hold out even longer by making a saving throw each additional minute beyond their check result.  Characters with the Sexual Training feat gain a +5 bonus to this saving throw.  Each successful save holds off the climax but at a cost, the character looses one healing surge. A character without any healing surges takes damage equal to his level instead, meaning it is possible to hold off climax for too long ;)
